The Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) is one of the leading research universities in Germany. As a reform-oriented campus university, it uniquely unites the entire range of major scientific fields in a single location. Researchers and students alike are offered special opportunities for interdisciplinary cooperation due to the dynamic interaction of subjects and subject cultures offered at the faculty.
The Faculty of Sport Science at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum currently has a vacancy starting Winter term 2022/23 for a
W2-Professorship in Sport Education.
The future holder of the position should advocate a contemporary approach to sport and physical education in research and teaching, with a special focus on educational and learning processes in and through movement, play and sport across the entire lifespan. Cooperation with the disciplines represented in the Faculty of Sport Science as well as thematically relevant institutions of the RUB (such as the Professional School of Education) and other faculties is expected, as well as cooperation within the University Alliance Ruhr.
Teaching aptitude at academic level as well as qualification profile that fits into the overall orientation of the faculty are further selection criteria. Education-relevant topics are to be provided in B. A., B. Sc. and M. Ed. degree programs. As teaching in the Master of Education program is part of the future responsibilities, expertise in teaching methodology is highly desirable.
